A lot of folks that have read my books and short stories will point out that the stories are different and thought provoking. No formula writing techniques for this writer. Being Creative is a gift and and I wield the pen proactively.
Me: I was a Navy kid and moved around the country a lot growing up: four elementary schools, one middle school, three high schools. I lived in the Central Valley of California when I graduated high school and college (BS in Biology, 1982).

I worked in agriculture for years and managed to travel all over the world teaching and learning from people. Travelling, seeing other cultures, reading foreign news, and generally opening my eyes and mind to different people can shape the way a person thinks. There is a lot more back story I'm leaving out, but in 2014, I made the move from California to Indiana (near Louisville, KY).

My novels had been written, but not final when I moved here. Most of the short stories I published here were written and published before my relocation. I had the novels edited (although my reviewers tell me they need to be edited more), and self published on Amazon.

I have read thousands of books in my lifetime, primarily fiction
After college, I ran with a group of creative and somewhat wild friends. We all enjoyed life, culture, artists and philosophical conversations as well as fishing, drinking, using a modicum of illicit substances and going places. All of us maintained jobs, lives and relationships, even if certain relationships didn't last. If to this day, we maintain contact with one another.

I wore that psychedelic printed shirt to the St. James art show in Louisville, Kentucky the year I published, Brewmaster of Arabia. I was stopped four times by complete strangers that complimented me on the shirt and on indicated that "I look like I'd be fun to hang around."
